Movies of 2011! The Reviews of 21-25

Breakdown, Basically you should read stuff from the past few blogs to get the feel for the reviews.

(21) Rubber (2011)
This Movie I got really excited for when I saw this on Claire's Facebook. God Bless Claire McDonell and her exquisite taste. I immediately called Dustin and Dane and Chris and we got together and watched this amazing film. Why would they make a movie about a tire going around killing people. No Reason. SO GOOD. Basically This movie is a tip of the hat to bad horror movies. If you don't love the horror genre you probably don't want to see this. Another good thing about this movie was the overall absurdness, it goes beyond what you would think it was. The Filming was great, the plot non existing, the lines so bad they were spectacular. This movie is exactly what I look for in movies. This is just a rubber tire the rubber tire goes around and blows up peoples MINDS. It like basically mind sticky grenades you. So all the policemen run around looking for a tire. Every scene is amazing. It has great one liners, fantastic moments of strife. It has sexy women, great "bad" acting. Plus, a nasty surprise in the middle to drive the movie forward. A solid 5 whitewash out of 5.

(22) Ninjas vs. Aliens (2010)
We decided to follow Rubber up with another movie. Dustin said Hey Let's watch Ninjas vs. Aliens its amazing. Dustin Was Wrong. I will admit. Aliens visiting Japan during the age of the Ninja sounds just amazing as amazing can possibly get. This was not it. The special effects were so bad they were actually bad. I just gave a movie about a car tire mentally blowing peoples heads off with mental power a 5 out of 5. This is basically a total crapper. I couldn't even recommend it for watching aliens getting cut up by ninjas. oh, wait that part was pretty cool. Don't watch the whole thing. Use the fast forward button. it's the only way to go. 1 out of 5.

(23)Eat, Pray, Love (2010)
Anne had to set through (in a separate room for the last two movies) So I felt obligated to join her for this one plus it had one awesome thing going for it. Javier Bardem, I dare you not to love him in everything. I mean have you seen no country for old men. A Mazing. Anyway, This was based on a book that Anne read. She really liked the book and wanted to watch the movie, So she did. I joined her, she restarted it. I watched it with her. I thought Roberts was really good. I thought she pulled off the character well, at least Anne said she did. I don't really want to go into this movie Like I did Scott Pilgram in the the previous blog because lets face it, I didn't read the book, I'll let Anne tell you more in her blog. I really liked Javier in this and the whole time throughout the movie, I laughed I cried. Imagine that I Cried. The Story was brilliant, it was a new twist on the whole Romantic Comedy storyboard. I liked the Guru and the fun parts that actually fun and the sad parts that are actually sad. The rooftop got me. It was really quite the fun movie. I suggest it if you are in a bad mood. It's pretty fun. I liked it quite a bit. I don't have a lot of bad stuff to say about this film. I don't have anything particularly great to say about it either. So Movies generally start off at 0. So this one definitely doesn't loose any points and it moves forward points on Story, Setting, Casting, and I'll add an extra one on because the movie flowed really well and it didn't drag out, which happens to be my thing. Movies should have the right kind of flow. This one went really well. So It gets a 4 Brandon Drooling over Javier out of 5.

(24) Green Hornet (2010)
I had heard nothing but bad things about this movie. It was terrible, the effects were horrendous, it wasn't funny. These people were wrong. Very Wrong. I have learned to realize that I should stop trusting people's opinions on movies, especially my friends, because my tastes are varied. This was great. I thought Seth Rogen is flawless, Jay Chou is great. I loved the opening of the beer bottles and the whole flower in the latte was great. Other than that, The action was quite great. The Movie was Hilarious. I think the thing about this movie that people didn't like is they went in expecting Batman "dark" Super hero movie, that is not what this movie was meant to be. Not at all. It was great it was a comedy with action based hero stuff behind it. I liked the plot. I liked the action. I didn't like the stray from characters. The Green Hornet is a classic character, The movie didn't stray as much as I thought it was going to, but the story line could have been done better. I wish Kevin Smith would have written it, he wrote a ton of comics for the character and could have made it epic instead of just another run of the mill comedy. There were lots of great gags, Rogan was really funny. In the end it was a great movie, not exactly stand outtish but it was good in general. So therefore I think I'll give it 3 flying beer caps out of 5. Rent it, it's worth it I promise.

(25) Thor (2011)
I was pumped about this movie. Wicked Pumped. It was really good. It was surprisingly funny. Hemsworth was fantastic. I liked the nod to Hawkeye, the lead up to the avengers is going great, I think it's actually going to be good. The Sacrifice at the end was great and the Hammer thing on Loki was brilliant. This movie did everything I wanted it to. It covered Thor as the arrogant little boy, It covered Loki's character traits and how the reader (watcher) actually feels bad for the guy even though he is a complete douche. It didn't have enchantress, but that is what Thor 2 is for. THERE BETTER BE A THOR 2!!!!. Some of the best comedy in a Super hero film to date. lines like "does he need Mouth to Mouth, because I totally know CPR" and "Thank You I'll have another" Plus the Car parts and the subtle hints to how sexy Hemsworth is. Then you have the Hammer scenes with Rednecks trying to pull it out with their trucks. So good. Not to mention the great action. How Beast was the Destroyer people. He totally reaked havoc and ..... Destroyed stuff. Subtle Nods to He-Man throughout was appreciated. Odin couldn't have been cast better, and he looked like Norse God should look. Then you add onto all of that the fact that they did an amazing job with Jotunheim and Asgard man they looked great. The Fight at Jotunheim gave me the Thor I wanted to see, then later Thor gives up a good fight with Loki. It down played how powerful Thor is. Which is to be expected. Thor is going to get down played even more in the Avengers, because we all know good and well if you read the comics, He owns the rest of them. I loved one of the newer Thor Story lines where he just man handles Tony right out of the Iron Man Armour. So good. This Movie made me happy, But Surprisingly as good as it was, It isn't the best Super Hero Movie of the Year. There are more to come Young ones. More to Come. Thor gets a 5 Manly piece of Turkey Leg and a mug of Ale out of 5.

What was the Best Super Hero Movie? What Will the Next five movies have? More Crazyness like Rubber? Or Lamesauce.
