Planet Hulk Animation, Crisis on Two Earths Animation, Opinions on Marvel Vs. DC

First off I want to include a rant that happened right after watching planet Hulk. I posted it on Brandy Rae Thompson's facebook page, She didn't have anything to do with any of it, it just kind of happened. So here it is.....
I feel like Dr. Pepper all of a sudden it's Cody's (shafer)fault talking about how he loves some Dr. Pepper with his kid's cuisine, seriously i hate kid cuisine, who puts a brownie in there that's just going to burn if you actually want your turkey hot. I mean in order to actually eat that rubber crap it has to be hot, so it's... a catch 22. you pretty much have to decide between the 1/8th of an inch brownie and the turkey. i mean even with hot sauce the brownie always wins. Why am i so puzzled over this man my brain hurts right now. i think i should lay down for a bit, Where's Anne? Working? Why? I don't want her to be at work. She should be home watching Dexter with me. I mean i can't finish it without her and not to mention i am little let down. Lets face it I watched Planet Hulk today.... WTF Marvel, Do you just have to let your animation and movie studios butt rape you on a constant basis. I just wish marvel would fire everyone that currently works with them and get someone who would actually say, hey that's a great comic, lets make that into a movie, but since it's so good lets do a literal adaption and not add any bulls*** that ruins the storyline I mean is that too much to ask? why can't a Comic book Company actual make movies about their comics that follow what the hell happens in the comics. I mean mainstream movies OK elaborate a little do your own thing. but if you're going to sit there and animate a fucking movie based on your book and not tell the... same story in book, you should paper cutted to death by the pages of the book you ruined, how many times is marvel going to ruin characters and movies for me. Deadpool in origins, planet hulk, doctor strange. At least my homeboy's at DC know what's up. I mean Superman batman public enemies, straight from the comic to animation, wonder woman origin same thing, new frontier was like flipping the pages of the comic but so fast they were moving it was so close. Hey Marvel there is a reason you are a steady number Two in this industry, take a cue and get a clue you lousy character stealing bastards. Oh and your last three epics sucked. That's right I'm talking to you Secret Invasion, Dark Reign and Siege. I'm not afraid of you.

End of the quote from Facebook so on with the blog.

If you read the rant above You'll see that I was not happy with the way marvel did Planet Hulk. However personal feelings aside of how they tortured the actual storyline and characters, how was the movie. Well, If you Ignore Marvels constant problem with themselves, It wasn't all that bad. The Animation was the same crew or style That does Avatar the last airbender. Which is an amazing series, I posted some of it in a earlier blog. Just go back through them to find it. Or just click this link if you're lazy.http://kingofatlantis.blogspot.com/2009/10/little-this-little-that.html

Anyway, It wasn't horrible if you put aside the issues. I enjoyed moments the Thor and Beta Ray Bill was some sweet action. Surprisingly the best part of the movie was when Hulk wasn't fighting. I was just waiting for him to open up, but he didn't. It was nice to see Hulk as more than a beast in movie, I like the Hulk who thinks opposed to the HULK SMASH LITTLE MAN, Hulk. Rating with prejudice 2, without it 8.

Crisis on Two Earths on the other hand WAS AMAZING. I loved having tons upon tons of characters just jammed in their because they wanted to throw them in there. Lobo gypsy and ton's others made quick debuts and got cast to the side so other characters could show up. I liked the Aquaman appearance His lines were great. I liked having Black Lightning have his moment as well as others. It was an All out character fest. I must admit some people may have issues with this because if you're not a hardcore fan you're going to miss the subtle one scene appearances of some low level characters, that if you don't know who they are from the start you won't know at all who they are when they appear. I like this lift from a small story line. The Extras on the Blu-ray disc were just out of this world. I still haven't finished them all, mostly because my brother in law borrowed it immediately after i watched it. I know I am DC heavy and I tend to lean towards them but this is a solid 10.

Speaking of My DC heaviness, I would like to go on the record to say Marvel has some good Comic Writers out there. I do buy them. I bought the entire series of Captain America Reborn, hoping it would be awesome. It was ok, I hated the storyline of Dark Reign, I'm not going to like Siege either. I will give it chance just like I did house of M, Civil War, and Secret Invasion. Which by the way I loved Civil War, House of M was great. Secret Invasion is where they started to fall in my eyes. Planet Hulk the book was good. I am reading several Deadpool Series right now. Most of it is good. I am not enjoying the Team-up like i thought i would. I was think Deadpool and Ghost Rider Hell Yeah and it turned into, well now here is an option if i run out of toilet paper. Bottom Line, Very few storyline's intrigue me in Marvel, however i am reading a lot of DC so my view's are skewed a little. Some of my current reads are coming to an end. Blackest Night will end soon, which means a lot of money that i was sinking into it will become free for other books. I have picked up some random Marvel you will see in later blogs. I actually liked them. Marvel Animation and Movie wise have failed me a lot and this has caused some prejudice. I didn't like the Iron Man animation, I liked the Iron man movie and I am pumped for the Iron Man 2 movie. Speaking of which have you seen the awesome toys out for this thing. Man they are sweet. I really liked the Doctor Strange movie, I loved Hulk Vs. both of them were good, but as good as they were. They can't hold up to DC's stuff. Wonder Woman was off the charts in comparison. First Flight and Public Enemies are amazing too. Marvel mainstream movies is where they have failed me. The epic fail of xmen 3 pissed everyone off. especially after the first two were so great. Then they take their failure further by torching one of there Cult favorites in Wolverine Origins, not to mention they decide to tell a story that has nothing to do with Wolverine. It was so horrible. I can't bring myself to watch it again. I mean yeah ok, so DC is taking some liberties with the new Batman movies too. however, the difference is simple. They don't completely ruin the character identities overall. Yeah give the Joker some scars, i didn't really like that, but after i watched the movie it was easily overlooked at how crazy they made the Joker. I don't mind small changes in character like scars or dreadlocks for the Joker, but don't give him the ability to fly or shoot beams out of his eyes when that's not even close to what his character are about. You can take small story variations, give different backgrounds if you have too make them current (Iron man in the middle East) That's fine. Don't screw with stuff by making Sabertooth Wolverines greatest Villain ultimate nemesis don't make that character his brother, his solider buddy Ok I can deal with that, that's close enough, but not his blood brother That I'm not down with. So Just think before you act. Hire director's who care about comic books. Go NOLAN AND FAVREAU pretty sure i spelled his name wrong..I checked I did but i fixed it. ok enough with the ranting.
