Kevin Smith meets Batman Pt. 2

The Widening Gyre: This is the book Kevin Smith referred too as being the best he could do with batman.

So what's the Verdict. Another good book honestly. I have only read the first two installments, but that's all that i have had the opp. to get. I loved the Poison Ivy section i have never. I repeat NEVER. Seen her so sexy. WOWWIE!!
Killer Croc thought so too. She had a bunch of normal Villains strung up. Then something amazing happens. Smith Uses Etrigan in a way i haven't seen him in a very long time. Not giving away things here, but it's amazing. I liked the way Smith Introduces Dick Grayson as robin and then showed him as Nightwing and went through Batman's thoughts on this. Very subtle and very good. The Second Book has a nice cameo by a villain and a hero. I loved the way Tim Drake reacted to the hero. Then it's some Bruce Wayne Sexy girl stuff. A villain is there that i had never heard of or seen his name is Cornelius Stirk. I looked him up and he appeared first in Detective Comics then in Nightfall. I will read Nightfall at some point. He is a interesting little fellow.

Good Stuff.

Kevin Smith meets Batman!!!!! pt. 1

Ok, First Off! I will tell you I have not read Kevin Smith's stuff before this. However, I have watched I don't know 90% of his movies and I have read a poop load of Batman. Dogma, Mallrats, Clerks, Clerks 2, Chasing Amy, and Jay and Silent Bob strike back are all on my top favorite movie lists. His latest stuff (Jersey Girl, Zak and Miri)were OK. Smith Himself wouldn't hesitate to tell you what stuff he thinks is great and what he thinks is crap. I actually don't tend to agree with the man, I think he is too hard on himself. I have watched the "Night with Kevin Smith" DVD's and he is very funny and loves to poke fun at himself, but several times he says that certain things he has done have sucked, I don't think he has ever made something "Unwatchable" I got through Jersey Girl, which is the one he tends to trash the most. Honestly, you can tell his heart wasn't in it. Zak and Miri pushed too many envelopes for me. I just think Smith was too concerned with what he could get in the movie than developing plot line. I understand this. So now that i have hyped up Kevin Smith and admit i am Gay for the man. I will review His batman comics.

Cacophony-- I have the Hardcover Novel of this. I figured It's Smith. It will be a win. Smith Opens up with his usual painfully truthful this book isn't the best i can do. The first two books kind of suck, but it gets better I promise. I thought the commentary was awesome one of the shining moments of the whole novel.

One of things I loved about this book is the character's SO MANY!!! lots of no name fools running the show. I like that of course. Always have. Deadshot, Joker, Maxis Zeus, onomatopoeia, zsasz, Joker's Hammer!!! Onomatopoeia is the main Villain here.

I don't want to give anything away for the whole plot, but Batman save's the Joker's Ass again!!! Which is typical, and needed. So, Smith has a scene between Batman and the Joker, Which by far is one of the best freaking comic book scenes between the two characters. Joker is hopped up on medication to the point where he is normal. Bats takes this opp to chat with him. He is also completely incapacitated, just out of the grips of death kind of crap. Bats and Joker Share a moment. It's the kind of moments where you realize "This is why I read comics, This is why comics are the love child of Art and Literature. It's like if Di Vin chi knocked up Austen this is what the baby would do."

There were some moments, undoubtedly in the very first section that i hated. I mean hated, it didn't ruin the novel for me, but it was completely a slap in the face to the character. I stopped and said, The *^$&%^~ Joker would never F%$*%$& do that $%*(.
