First off, No messing around This Graphic Novel is one of the very best Graphic Novel's i have ever picked up. I mean to tell you it not only is one of the best graphic novels, but one of the best stories EVER TOLD!!! However it is racy. Definitely Adult material here. Rated R by me. Definitely R.
So there are several people or groups i need to let you know about so that my review will make since. First off a lot of countries are after the main character and they will just be mentioned along the way. Yorick Brown is the last guy on Earth. Ampersand is Yorick's monkey. Agent 355 is Yorick's Bodyguard. Hero is Yorick's sister. Beth is three different people so i will address them as Beth A who is Yorick's Girlfriend. Beth B Who is an important character later on and Beth C who is very important in the End. Then there is Dr. Mann she is a Geneticist who plans on repopulating the earth. Dr. M's crew who are after Ampersand. Amazons who are crazy girl power chicks who cut off their breasts so they can shoot bows and arrows better. They want all relics of men gone.
The Israels Want Yorick. Russian's Want Yorick. Australian's want to know whats going on in general. Natalya is a Russian Agent who befriended Yorick, 355 and Dr. Mann, but after a wicked fight with 355 in an awesome location (I'm not giving away anything that's really cool or critical). So on with the Story and Review. Spoiler alert, even though i won't be giving away key parts in the story there will be a overview of the story in general so some things will be given away just not critical things.
People Meet Yorick and he is just chilling talking to his girlfriend Beth A.
355 is out to get a precious artifact. People are doing life stuff everything is normal. Then. Every Male on Earth Dies. Every male Tree, bug, mammal, fish, reptile and Human Die. I know Humans are mammals but just throwing us in there in case someone isn't paying attention. I don't think anyone is going to read this anyway its just kind of for me and if my friends want to read it.
So, If Every last man is dead then what is the driving force in the book. Well, Yorick and Ampersand are guys they carry the last y chromosomes on earth!!!
So The Story jumps forward quite a bit from here. It takes Yorick a couple of months to get the courage to leave his apartment. I don't blame the guy. A every guy on earth died and B There are only women left. I would be scared too. Now i know what you are thinking, How could this be bad? Think of all the poo nanny he is going to get. Well, that's not exactly how it's going to go at all. In the few months time it took Yorick to leave the Amazons have risen and are pushing around all of the other women. Women have had to take over and do many things. First, Clean up all the accidents and bodies that the plague left. Think about it. Every plane, Train, boat and automobile that men were driving crashed. Things are in bad shape.
some women have banded together to create colonies and protect there colonies from outsiders. It's gone back in time by 70 years. Here we run into a character we see a couple of times. A Super Model that has turned into a body collector. Just no real need for women to flaunt around in skimpy clothes when there are no men to look at them. Especially when the cities are still in dismay.
So Where is Yorick Going? To see his mom who just inherited the USA. Because after all the men die she was next in line for the presidency. At least at this point. later a higher ranking officer shows up and becomes the president. For now Yorick is headed to the white house.
When he gets there some women attack the White House. Enter in agent 355. The baddest of the baddest. She kicks the womens rear end and becomes Yorick's Bodyguard. They Set off to find a brilliant Geneticist named Dr. Alison Mann. They set off to find her and they run into Amazon's.
Described above. Yorick Goes after them just to get his rear handed to him. time for 355 to save the day. After this run in they hide from the amazons. Yorick wears a gas mask and cloak. They get to Dr. Mann. Bad news they have to get to LA to her other office. Good thing they are in NY and that's not on the other side of the country. Oh and planes are out. so are most cars and highways. So a cross country trip should be easy right. Nope. They get on a train. Get mugged and knocked out in Kansas. Where a town has been taken over by the inmates of a near by prison. they killed the female guards and took over the small town near by. real ladies believe it or not, they are living the American dream. Until Yorick and his posse show up, because behind them is the Amazon's. They bring their number one A gun Assassin to kill Yorick. The A number one assassin is someone extremely important to the story to find out who it is i guess you will just have to go buy the book won't you.
The Assassin can't kill Yorick for obvious reasons and 355 and Dr. Mann get Yorick out of town. They end up running into Natalya and the Twins that are also Geneticist. They do some tests and find out that their are men left. Where? In space that's where. What happens next. Well, they get attacked by the Israels.
I don't want to ruin the whole thing, but you can see it in the pictures can't you.
They run into a road block in Arizona by the Arizona women who ban together to protect their own. A huge story thing goes on before this and during this. A very Crucial part. I just included pictures to entice and whet your appetite for the book. Basically Yorick needed saving and there was only one way 355 could think of to save him. It's unethical to say the least, but it worked. You find out what he see's later on.

After Arizona Hero changes her role in the book and starts looking for Yorick, She thinks 355 has kidnapped him, Why, well again i guess you'll just have to read it. Yorick does something he hasn't done throughout the whole book, he is forced to do it, Then he feels guilty and goes to a church This is where he meets Beth B.
Beth C also is kind of introduced here (if you get my drift), after Beth B and Yorick Talk about Beth A. Yorick Saves Beth B From the Amazon's by acting like god. It was great.
Confused, you won't be if you.... READ THE BOOK.
Well, for those of you who have read this i am skipping a lot i don't want to spoil it. They are in L.A. Yorick is really sick, Dying, Why, I don't want to ruin it. It was one of the best moments in the entire series when you find out Why Yorick is on his death bed. Just a great overall two page moment.
The Ninja who is after Ampersand finally gets him. 355 goes after her. Yorick although on his deathbed goes after 355. Dr. Mann, however, is thrilled because she figured out what saved Yorick and Ampersand from the plague which means they can cure the plague and re-enter males into the population, Via natural birth and Clones. All they have to do is make sure to get the monkey back from the Ninja. Cue Awesome fight with hot ninja chick number one. Well, Off to Japan.
To get the Monkey back. On the boat we get to meet the captain. I MEAN WE MEET THE CAPTAIN. O Captain O Captain how i love thee.
I would love to swab the deck for her. I mean i would defiantly be down below.
All i'm saying is she can raise the sails.
What i am trying to say here is that she is hot. Sorry Anne. I must be honest when Anne reads this I am going to get a smack in the head. Oh well i couldn't resist the boat jokes. So what happens on the boat stays on the boat. Plus, Yorick and the Captain aren't the only one to man the mast. I mean people get lonely.
Australian Navy enter the Scene. The Crew ends up in Australia which is funny, because Yorick has been fussing about going to Australia for Beth A the entire Series now he is in Australia. They look for her, but get interrupted by a few people. 355's old buddies do some damage, Then who shows up but Hero. Oops sorry that was kind of in LA or was it anyway that happened somewhere. I guess to find out for sure where you will have to What? That's right Go buy the books. Hero Goes After Beth B and Finds Beth C as well. They go back to to the Russian and the twins to work on re population and curing the Virus.
Beth A isn't in Australia anymore she went to Paris. Why? Because She had a vision to find Yorick in Paris. Why Paris? I guess you should read it. No I'll actually ruin this part because it is silly and small and not plot at all. When her and Yorick where dating and Yorick found out she was going to Australia they planned on meeting in Paris to get together in some ferry tale land. It makes since in the book. The kind of thing you promise people when you think they are leaving forever kind of thing.
So Off To Japan. Again. This time on the side of the Australian Government.
Japan is crazy. Their are sexbots that say all the right thing. The perfect man doll kind of creepy stuff. like Honey, I'm home who is ready for her daily foot massage. Japan is ruled by an American pop star who took her fame to take over the Yakuza and train girls. She holds up in a hotel and takes smack all day long, basically. She has a lot of cronies though. There is a Japanese girl involved in all of this, but i don't want to give away her roll too much. Once in Japan though The team splits up. 355 and Yorick, And Dr. Mann and the Australian Spy (who by the way do a lot of doing it) Yorick and 355 go after Ampersand who is held by the Yakuza Chick. The lovers go see Dr. Mann's mom because they think the ninja works for her. 355 and Japanese girl get captured. Japanese chick gets Yorick captured and then they get away. Australian Spy gets shot in the belly with a rifle by Mann's mom and then they fix her (it was an accident). Mann finds out she is a spy. Then the ninja shows up.
BOOM bad things happen. Mom goes missing. Dr. Mann is dying. Australian spy is dying. Yorick is Dying. 355 is Dying. Then everyone gets better and they have some cake yeah!!!! some of this isn't accurate. people are dying though. Some have swords in their shoulder, other gunshot wounds, some even have hard core bleeding of the VAG.
They find out who is behind it all. The taking of Ampersand. The Plague. All of it. It's explained. Then the person in charge Tries to kill Yorick. The Best fight scene in the whole book is here. I included the WHOLE THING. Just Remember Buy the book i implore you it's worth it. Everyone Buy it. I am not even getting paid for this review. So, it's honest. It's amazing All the way through.

Beth A and Yorick Finally get together. Unexpected crap happens. I MEAN HARDCORE. I cried. I don't care if you know it or not. I'm not ashamed. I cried when Yorick Spilled his guts then all of a sudden. It sucked. I cried OK. I did. i had to put the book down. The last book is more fun than plot line. This story is by far the best freaking thing i have read in a long time. Read it. Buy It. Read it twice I am going too. Eventually. Right now i have a lot of comics to catch up.
