51-55. Plus, the Next Aquaman entry.

A brief explanation of exactly what this blog is. Well, other than terrible. It's a blog about movies. I watch 100 a year that I haven't seen before. Currently I am blogging about 2012. In this Blog will be the 51st movie through the 55th. A quick little note I am doing a contest. An Aquaman Contest. If you look at some of the current blogs. You can see the one and only entry By Britt Goan. Well, it was the one and only entry. Next up. Casey and Rachel Adams. I will share their entry at the end of the blog. Also listed are prizes you can get for entering the contest. Now, on with the movies.

(51) Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow. (2008)
The Next Avengers is a great Story line. It's where all of the Avengers had had children. The Earth has lost and Tony has hidden the Children away. Ultron has won and is going to try and take down the children and take care of any other threats to him. Namely Tony and The Hulk.  It's actually pretty funny. The kids are pre-teen trying to deal with being the earths last hope, Not having any parents, and trying to just stay alive, because they are being hunted by the most powerful force in the universe Ultron. Tough break kids. They all deal with emotional debilitating circumstances and the only person they have to look up too is the unstable alcoholic Tony Stark. Hulk and Thor make grand appearances. The Voice acting isn't the best available, but it wasn't distracting. The animation was a good classic feel, not bad, fluid and concise. The Story line was fun. The Comedy perfect for the children that it was intended. The Action was actually pretty good. There is a point in the movie where a security protocol is activated and you get to see something amazing. The points in the film that push over the movie for me are the eventual come to fruition by the children and Thor in General. 4 out of 5.

(52) The Amazing Spiderman (2012)
By far the best Spiderman in years. I loved that they tried hard to get it right. They gave a little justice to the Spiderman franchise. Andrew Garfield was a great Spiderman. I can't do this without comparing to the previous Trilogy. So here it is. The Previous Trilogy was great for what it was. The first movie blew everyone's socks off. Then the trilogy lost it's mojo. The Second movie offered us a look at one of the most enduring Spider man villains Dr. Octopus. Actually rather well done. Then. Well. We have the third movie. Bad CGI for Venom, Worse costume design ever for the Goblin, A Dancing and Singing Tobey Maguire with bad winks and hand guns at cute girls. Nothing could save it. It was a black mark on that trilogy that no one can get over. This movie however has started out strong just like the previous trilogy. Marvel has its way of sucking from time to time, lets see if they can keep it away from this one. So. Garfield was great. the Transformation scenes were funny. The tough time learning his powers was great. The Stan Lee guest appearance was by far his best yet. Emma Stone was funny, sarcastic, and Gorgeous. What a great Gwen Stacey. The CGI in this was great at first. Then the lizard roared his head and it was ok, not great, but ok. The battles were fun, a little quick paced, but it's spiderman, it's not like he is going slow down, that's his game. He is quick and infuriating. The witty jokes from Spiderman in this movie were much more noticeable and frequent.. This I liked as well. Having Flash there leads me to believe that we may see a venom in the next installment. What we really need is an introduction of J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson, because there is no man alive that can pull that off any better than Simmons did in the first trilogy. This movie other than the medium quality CGI for the Lizard and terrible scene with Leary on the roof was a solid installment. 4.5 out of 5.

(53) Batman The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
I have lots of opinions here. Most of you will Disagree with them. Most of you already have. I will try and get my point across. Lets start with the positives. Fist off SPOILER ALERT. I can't say what I want here without spoilers.  The Story line itself. As a whole was fantastic. The part of Batman's fall and rise. The story line did go off character with Bane. He wasn't Spanish, but for the record. I don't mind that. I liked Bane's story that they gave him. It was fluent. I really liked the basic stuff behind the movie. I loved Talia. She was sexy, smart, and brilliantly plotted out throughout. I unfortunately caught on Super early, which is a downfall of being such a big fan of Batman, that I didn't fall for Bane is the kid thing. I did love the tie together. The Fall of Gotham was fantastic. The people were judged. They were judged by the perfect judge for this series. The Scarecrow. I love what he did if you were found guilty. Either Death or exile. Exile was basically death by falling in the frozen river. That was great. The acting was normal for these movies. I liked the people vs. the Cops and the 99% type up rise. The prison part is great. The escape was good too. The Breaking of the Bat was great. First they broke Wayne, then in epic Knightfall fashion (which I also super appreciated) Bane Broke the Bat. The ending with introducing a Robin, not any of the same Robins from the comics, which I am ok with as well. Then with Batman seemingly dying to save the city. I was ok with that. Here is deal. So what exactly did I not like. Well. Super Hero movies in General have to abide by certain rules. At least for me. They are allowed to go as far off character as they want, but with out going against character's core values. Character's core values are built over time by the companies, creators, writers and fans alike. In the beginning of Batman they were working through who he is. They let him carry guns at first but after a while the real Batman emerged. He doesn't kill people. He doesn't abandon Gotham. His core Value and Staple of Who Batman is. Is this. Bruce Wayne's parents were murdered in front of him, after going out to a Movie (The Mask of Zoro). Bruce Wayne vowed to protect Gotham in honor of his parents. He also vowed to do it without killing anyone. He Vowed to protect Gotham with his life, as long as he lived. To always be there for the city. Regardless of the consequences. He continually gives up his love life to protect the city. He always comes back. There was another Vow made in this series. It was to Bruce's parents from Alfred. He Vowed to Always stand by Bruce. When making a movie with Classic characters you have to abide by the core values. You can mess around with certain origin areas, You can mess around with story lines. You can do anything pretty much except break core values. The movie did that. At the end. Bruce left Gotham. NAY I SAY NAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! FOUL FOUL FOUL. I'll SCREAM IT TO THE ROOFTOPS IN THE CANYONS AND OVER THE OCEANS. BULL. Some of you say, Well, Gotham didn't need Batman anymore, he had protected it from the ultimate fall. Gotham was OK. A huge city. Is doing  OK now. Here is the deal. No it is not. What is the deal. You don't think muggers are still around, taking wallets and not getting caught. Batman is always needed. Could he run off and take a break with Catwoman in France. Well, yeah. He can do that. He isn't always there, but he will always go back. Even when he decided to move away from Gotham it called him back. He doesn't leave. HE DOESNT LEAVE. That's breaking a Core Value of the Character. It's like taking Scotch from Stark, Letting Superman wear green Kryptonite jewelry, and making The Hulk go to Anger Management. Lets just Let Batman LEAVE GOTHAM. Hey while we are at. Lets get Alfred to cry like a sissy and abandon Bruce. Lets do that too. Why we are at it lets make Animal Man allergic to cats and Michelangelo Lactose intolerant so he doesn't enjoy his pizza.  Hell, lets just go all out and make The Punisher a peace activist. I can see that now. Good Ol' Frank Castle having a peaceful sit in to protest the killing of a old lady.  What else..... Yeah Catwomans costume was god awful. You can't understand a word coming out of Bane's muffled mouth. The mask was cool though. So. 2  stainless steel Wolverine's out of 5.

(54) Immortals (2011)
From the same fold as 300. I was excited. Mickey Rourke as a villain. Sold. Greek mythology. Yes please. Cool special effects. Ok I am Game. It was bad. Henry Cavill was ok. It just wasn't that great of a story line. The base story was ok, but it was drug out to the point of exhaustion. It was terrible. The Gods fighting and the Bow was neat.  1.3 out of 5

(55) Man on a Ledge (2012)
Sam Worthington gets another starting role. I don't know why. I'm not even sure Why I watched this. It looked ok I guess. It actually didn't turn out too bad. It was all about getting back at the bad guy. Elizabeth Banks was amazing in it. I liked her as a stressed out upset cop trying hard to save the day when she had no idea what was going on. Speaking of having something going on. Genesis Rodriguez is in this. HOLY COW. Genesis Rodriguez is in this. She is a girlfriend of the brother of the main character. They are super dysfunctional and the best part of this movie by far. I can give you two reason why you should watch this movie 1) Genesis 2) Rodriquez. Seriously WOW.

Ok so the Aquaman Contest has another Entry.

All The Way to Half Way.

Introduction. Blah Blah. Movies. I watch em I rate em. The End really. Not like anyone actually reads this bull anyway. I watch 100 movies a year I haven't seen before then I blog about them. I do this a lot. Why. I don't know really to torture myself. I like being mean to myself. Everyone is too me on a daily basis so I might as well join the club and put my self down and stop believing in myself too. I mean Who Am I really. Nobody. I suck SO BAD. I wish someone would just make me stop. I can't though.... ON with the movies.

(44) Paul (2010)
Just so we are on the same page. Yes 43 was Prometheus. Which means I followed up an Alien movie, with yes and Alien movie. I think they were a little different though. I really am a huge fan of Simon Pegg and I am really glad he is doing so well. I have a few things to Address in this movie other than the obvious. I watched the Unrated version of this. I really enjoy watching the Unrated versions. Not because they offer more fart jokes, nudity or curse words, but because Unedited to me means that it's in its form that Movie would like to have been but had to change a few things to make sure they get passed Big Brother and his ratings. So yes I don't care about ratings. Which is probably a really bad thing. I don't actively seek out movies that I shouldn't watch. Just movies that are Hilarious in a sick way. This wasn't one of them. It was Hilarious in a Hilarious way. There were times where I laughed so hard I cried. It was actually a little deep at times and really pointed out how out of touch people have become with whats around them. It has an All Star Cast. Including an Amazing Surprise Star at the End. Seriously when you can get Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Seth Rogen, Jason Bateman, Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig all in one place how do you resist. Easy. Give in, don't resist. Watch it. I did. Pot Jokes and immature jokes aside it was a rewarding experience. 5 out of 5

(45) Hanna (2011)
Hanna was a movie I looked forward too. A Young girl as a trained Killer. It had potential written all over it. Plus, The Hulk was training her. Well, it was Eric Banna but whatever, Cate Blanchett is in this as well. There are some great action moments though out, but nothing over whelming. Ultra Violent for sure which is why it was given the R rating and it is fun so see big government agents get snatched up and owned by a young lady just trying to get to Candy Land or where ever it was she ended up. It was not bad. The plot ended up being a lot weaker than I anticipated. Which was brutal. I had my expectations set high and like life itself. Hanna let me down. 3 out of 5.

(46) Rio (2011)
Yes, That is three movies in a row with a single word title. No, it wasn't on purpose. Yes, I did notice it while I was writing them down in my Journal. Seriously, This is my blog stop asking questions and let me work through these. Fine, One last question. No. Rio was fun. I love kids movies because the plot is straight forward, the good guy wins and it's always cute and cuddly. The voice casting was really fun. Some of the best voices in Hollywood bless this movie with their voices. Leslie Mann, Kelly Keaton, Wanda Sykes, Jamie Foxx, and Tracy Morgan. Unfortunately you have to listen to the weasel voice of Jesse Eisenberg. I like Eisenberg in almost all that he does. His voice is a bit weasely though. I hadn't noticed before because I like the Pissed off I wish I had the guts to go on a murdering spree look he holds behind his eyes. Anne Hathaway is also here. No Comment. George Lopez is here too. I like Lopez and I feel really sorry for him. Why? Conan O'Brien Lenoed him. Conan says I won't move back and Hour It's not cool I'm leaving you NBC. He then goes to TBS and moves Lopez back and Hour which lead to the cancelling of Lopez's show. Not that I knew Lopez had a show before Conan went to TBS, but still. The Movie itself offered an ok pace. Good laughs. silly fun. exactly what you expect from a kids movie. It didn't offer anything good though, nothing stand out special about this. therefore it only earns a 3 out of 5.

(47) Chris Jericho: Brekaing the Code (2010)
Chris Jericho. A wrestler who transcended Little guy to big guy. The First Undisputed Heavy weight Champion. Why would I bother watching a huge documentary on him. Well. He Trained with the Harts. That's cool. He then went on to become a Legend in Mexico. When The Monday Night Wars were going on in the Epic 90's era in Wrestling he was one of the First to make the Big Jump. He was the LionHeart in WCW. Under used. I remember his Jump. It was EPIC as far as epicness goes in the wrestling industry. On WWF Raw and Smackdown. Months go by it was right around the time of Y2K and the whole Scare over that. So This Massive Countdown Started and It would interrupt randomly throughout all of the shows. It could be mid match and this countdown would go off. It could be mid Pay per view main match and the attention would be drawn away by the countdown. So you expected something Epic to happen. Something Game changing. On Raw "The Rock" was running his mouth right around the time the countdown counted down to zero. Everyone expected something. Then Y2J blasted across the Screen and Fireworks went crazy to reveal. Chris Jericho and WCW mid carder. So good. So comedic. The Rock response was Who the Hell are You? HAHAHA then Jericho got beat up. Best switch from company to company of all time. Way better than the NWO thing. Why? because it was wrestling making fun of itself. Building up something epic to just have it fizzle out almost immediately. All in All it broke the Terrible film making of the WWE for me. They finally broke format. This might have pre dated the terrible ones. I'm not sure. Let me check..............Nope Same year as the OMG and 5 years after the Undertaker one. I have more of the Wrestling ones to come. A lot actually. Sorry. 3.4 out of 5.

(48) Trick 'R' Treat (2008)
Do you like Horror movies? Do you like movies with fun Twist? How about movies that have several different plot points that intertwine? How about just Epic horror at it's best? If you said Yes to any of these. This is your movie. That creepy little guy to the left of my babble is one of the iconic horror figures in the world. Why. This movie. Anyone Famous here. Not really. Unless you like the X-men movies and recognize rogue or you watch True Blood and recognize her from that. This movie was your typical movie where you thought you knew what was happening just to have it ripped out from under you. Nothing was as it seemed. It would play on the people like myself that would try and figure out where the movie was going so that you could say something like " I called it!!" Then it would give the off put scenario to you. Let you feel all smart and amazing just throw a curve ball laced with razor blades at your pride and shred it to bits as it gave you something else. This movie as far as Horror goes. It doesn't get better than this. AT ALL. It had funny moments. Tense moments. Jumpy moments. It gave you everything that you want from a Horror flick. One of the best I have ever seen. 5 out of 5

(49) Ted. (2012)
I must have watched this trailer about  a dozen times. When it came time to see the movie I was ready. My favorite story about this movie was one about a mom who saw the movie poster that was just Ted sitting at a computer and took her son to see this. Then almost immediately left. Not without complaining. Which Spawned this movie poster that I have up. It was filthy. No taste. at all. BUT HILARIOUS  Thunder Buddies is priceless. The stuff on the Rug and Mila Kunis cleaning it up. I cried. This just went everywhere I wanted it too. So wrong but SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO right. Like eating the last ice cream sandwich in the break room because you heard someone else mention that it was the last one and they were going to get when they came back from lunch. Sorry Lance. That was me. Oh and it was delicious. By the way Lance if you are reading this. I loved how the season turned out for the Jets in 2012. Lets hope we get more of the same. Always good when every Friday for the entire season you see the Jets QB run into his own lineman and drop the ball and have the patriots score off of it. It won Not top 10 of 2012. Amazing. Just like this movie. It looses a few points for going places it shouldn't have and the run time was at least 30 minutes too much. 4.1 (Darth Vader theme ringtone for the girlfriend) out of 5.

(50) Jeff who lives at Home (2012)
I watched this because I love Jason Segel. Mainly from "How I met your Mother." He is just so love able. He doesn't fail here. He follows a premonition that he needs to figure out what he needs to be doing. This leads him out to buy some stuff for his mom. Which leads him after Kevin. He meets up with his brother and ends with a great family scene. This is warm. Heartfelt. Odd. Funny and sublime. Anne didn't like it. I did. 4 out of 5

Half way done. For goodness sake's Why can't I finish.
